The St. John Paul II Conference of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul is hosting a virtual Friends of the Poor® Walk/Run to support our mission of helping those in need in our community. Funds raised through our walk will be used in our community to help our neighbors in need of food, rent and utilities assistance.
What is a Virtual Walk?: Instead of walking as a large group, participants will walk individually or with family/friends in their neighborhoods or on their favorite walking path. You can walk, run, skate or ride a bike anywhere that is safe. You can also join us on your treadmill. Any walk or run length is acceptable.
Date / Time: Saturday, September 26, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. (If you can not walk at this time, you can complete the walk any time prior to October 15.) Prior to walking we request that you say a prayer for those in our community that are experiencing economic and emotional stress.
Register / Donate:
On-line at https://www.fopwalk.org/event/2539 When registering click on the “Choose Beneficiary” icon and select St. John Paul II on the top left of the selection page.
Suggested Donation: $25 per walker, but any amount will make a difference
Please ignore the registration time since there is no in person registration this year.
If you can not walk, you can still help by sponsoring a walker or just making a donation to aid our neighbors in need. All proceeds raised from this event will directly benefit people in Ponte Vedra and nearby communities who have reached out to SVDP for assistance. There are no administrative fees associated with this event.
Please consider joining us. It’s a great way to involve the entire family in a good cause!
